World Radio is an Android radio streaming app for discovering and listening to radio stations. This policy explains what information the app handles, why it is used, and which service providers may process it. World Radio does not require you to create an account.
The app stores information locally to provide its features, including:
Favorites, user-created station details, and preferences are stored on your device. World Radio does not upload this locally stored collection to a World Radio account or server. You can remove favorites and stations in the app. Clearing the app's storage removes its locally stored data.
When you search for a station, the search text is sent to the community-run Radio Browser API so the app can return matching stations. Radio Browser and the network provider may process the query and technical connection information, such as your IP address, under their own practices.
If you use a Google Assistant App Action to search, Google processes your voice request under Google's terms and privacy policy and passes the recognized search parameter to World Radio. The app then uses that text to search Radio Browser. World Radio Analytics records the number of search results when you have consented to Analytics; it does not receive the search text or station name as an Analytics event parameter.
Firebase Analytics is optional. It is disabled unless you explicitly agree in the app, and you can change your choice in Settings. When enabled, the app sends usage events such as screens viewed, playback starts and duration, playback failures, search result counts, favorites added or removed, and Premium plan or checkout steps. The app does not include search text, station names, or payment details in these Analytics events. Google may process technical information and pseudonymous app or device identifiers. Firebase is linked with AdMob in this app, so some metrics may be shared with that service. See Google's Privacy Policy.
The app uses Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose crashes and selected recoverable errors and improve stability. Reports may include technical details such as app and device information, error types, stack traces, and basic playback state (for example, whether playback was active or buffering). World Radio's custom diagnostic fields are designed to exclude station names, station IDs, stream URLs, and track titles. Crashlytics is separate from the optional Analytics setting. The free version of the app may show ads provided by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may process device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, and related usage or technical data to provide and measure personalized or non-personalized ads, depending on your region and consent choices. You can manage available ad privacy choices in the app and reset or limit your advertising ID in Android settings. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy.
If you enable online song artwork or lyrics in Settings, the app may send the currently reported track title, and where available artist name, to Apple iTunes Search or LRCLIB to find matching artwork or lyrics. These requests are made only for the corresponding enabled feature. Those providers may process the query and technical connection information under their own privacy practices.
Station listings are retrieved from Radio Browser. When you play a station, your device connects directly to the station's stream provider. That provider may receive your IP address and connection information and handles them under its own privacy practices. Stream security and content are controlled by the broadcaster, not by World Radio.
World Radio does not host or own the radio streams, station logos, or broadcast content. Trademarks, logos, and audio belong to their respective owners.
Premium purchases are processed by Google Play Billing. Google Play handles payment details; World Radio does not receive your full payment card information. The app receives purchase status and product information needed to unlock or restore Premium. Google processes purchase data under its own terms and privacy policy.
The app also uses Firebase Remote Config to retrieve app configuration. Google and other providers may process technical connection information and app or device identifiers to operate their services. Each third-party provider handles information under its own terms and privacy practices.
World Radio is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
You can manage locally stored favorites and stations in the app, turn off Analytics consent in Settings, and use the privacy options provided for ads when available. You can also reset or limit your advertising ID in Android settings. To request information about data handled by a third-party provider, you may need to contact that provider directly; its retention and deletion rules apply. World Radio uses HTTPS for its app service and catalog requests where supported. Radio streams and third-party services may use different connection security, which is controlled by those providers.
We may update this policy as the app or its data practices change. The latest version and its update date will be posted on this page.
